Citizen of Southend Awards
How many times have you thought ‘that person should be rewarded for that’?
They might have performed a selfless act, achieved recognition in a particular area or just helped out a neighbour. You just sometimes wish that an unsung hero could be recognised for their achievements.
Well that is what the ‘Citizen of the City’ is all about- this award scheme gives you the chance to nominate someone who lives, works and contributes to the community in the Southend borough.

Everyone Health Southend Visits SAVS
Lee and Sophie from Everyone Health Southend made a visit to SAVS last week to provide some MECC (make every contact count) training to some of the team.
Everyone Health Southend offer training for healthcare professionals and individuals alike, designed to support learners to develop an understanding of public health and how having healthy conversations is everyone’s role- teaching people in our communities ways to support each other and promote better health.

Improving Respiratory Care Through Community Collaboration
The Community Connectors have partnered with the Essex Partnership University Trust integrated and specialist community respiratory team and the South East Essex heart failure service to enhance local services for residents.
Their collaboration aims to boost awareness and understanding of respiratory illness amongst patients, care givers, and health care professionals. Together they are exploring ways to improve education and support to ensure better outcomes for everyone.

Exciting news from the Southend City Partnership- Over 2,000 responses were received for the Southend City Vision Consultation! A huge thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and helped shape the future of our City.

Free Parks Tennis
National Tennis Association (NTA) is on the hunt for an enthusiastic volunteer to run weekly tennis sessions held in various parks around Southend on a Saturday and Sunday morning.
The chosen Volunteer(s) will receive FREE coach training from the experienced coaches and other LTA mentors to help them run the sessions like a pro! and if that’s not exciting enough, they’ll also have the incredible opportunity to regularly connect with the coaching team and learn from their wealth of experience and knowledge.
