Local Charities and Organisations to Lead City Day Activities at The Victoria and The Royals Shopping Centres
Southend City Day on Saturday March 1st will celebrate community, culture, and the charities and organisations that make the city special.
The Royals Shopping Centre will welcome local organisations such as SAVS, Show Up! Southend, Southend YMCA, A Better Start & City Family, Trust Links, All in Music, Music on Sea, Havens Hospices and more, with Food For Life also offering hands on yoga and meditation sessions.
The Victoria Shopping Centre will provide residents with information, support and free workshops from groups such as Brook Southend, Southend Fostering Service, Leigh Heritage Centre, British Legion, Essex Family History, St Vincent’s Centre, Southend Pride, Leigh Lions and the One Love Project.

Southend Hospital Tower Block Abseil Challenge Returns
Daredevils are invited to abseil down the 154ft Hospital tower block in Southend to raise money for the Mid and South Essex Hospital Charity.
The annual fundraising event ‘Tackle the Tower’, will see participants abseil down the tower on Saturday May 17th. The event is open to everyone over the age of 14, with full training provided on the day.
Registration costs £45, with a suggested minimum sponsorship of £100. All money raised will go towards the ward or department of the participants choice at Basildon, Broomfield or Southend Hospital.

The Paddocks Centre Set to Re-open Following £2.3 Million Refurbishment
The Paddocks Centre, a vital community hub in Canvey Island, is set to re-open on March 17th following a significant £2.3 million refurbishment. The extensive renovation project has modernised the well-used facility, ensuring it remains a valuable asset for the local community for years to come.
The reopening of The Paddocks Centre marks a significant milestone for the Canvey Island community, providing a modern and versatile space for a wide range of activities and events.

Exciting Volunteering Opportunities at Rayleigh Windmill
As The Rayleigh Windmill enters the 2025 season, they are actively looking for new volunteers to join their dedicated team. The Rayleigh Windmill, a Grade II listed building and a beloved community attraction, depends on volunteers to create an engaging experience for all visitors.
Volunteers play a vital role in leading guided tours, assisting visitors, and maintaining the Windmills welcoming atmosphere.

Castle Point Mayor’s Charity Ball
Castle Point Mayor, Councillor Lynsey McCarthy-Calvert invites you and a guest to attend a Charity Ball at Runnymede Hall, Kiln Road, Benfleet, SS7 1TF on Friday April 4th at 6:45pm. The dress code for the evening is Black Tie.
The evening will commence with welcome drinks, a 3 course meal, coffee and entertainment provided by Su Harrison, DJ Dan Jolly and Romeo MC.
Tickets are £59.95 per person and there will be a raffle, with the proceeds raised going to The Indee Rose Trust.
