Send The Right Message Supportive Session
Southend based SEND Charity ‘Send The Right Message’ held a successful supportive drop in session on Friday at St Lukes Community Hub in Cluny Square where they were offering support such as disabled grant information, foodbank referrals, benefit guidance and accessible toilet keys to parent carers.
Thanks to resources donated by Cadent they were also able to hand out free slow cookers and carbon monoxide alarms alongside energy and gas advice and priority service register guidance.

Havens Hospices Nominated for Smiley Charity Film Award
Havens Hospices, based in Southend, has been put forward for the smiley charity film awards for a third year running after previously winning the silver award for Peoples choice in 2023 and 2024.
The charities latest promotional video ‘Its not about counting the days, its about making every day count’ aims to show the important work that the charity does and how donations can help make a huge difference.
Amy Dearing, director of fundraising and marketing at Havens Hospices said “Storytelling, especially through film, is invaluable in raising awareness about our work and showing the difference our supporters donations make for the families we care for”.

Rochford District Council Launches £30,000 Business Growth Grant Scheme
Rochford District Council is offering an exciting opportunity for businesses within the district to access funding that will help them stay competitive in todays fast-evolving market.
The £30,000 Rochford District Business Growth Grant Scheme is aimed at helping sole traders, micro and small businesses and community interest companies across the district to innovate, expand and enhance their visibility.

Health Inequalities Microgrants Fund
To recognise the incredible contribution by small voluntary and community groups in responding to health inequalities in Essex, the health and care system in Mid and South Essex would like to help these types of projects further and are delighted to announce a new microgrant programme, which will support projects or initiatives that address health inequalities and the wider determinants of health within your local area.
Any small scale voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector organisations with an annual income of under £100k, who come together to support tackling health inequalities within the communities across Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle point and Rochford, Chelmsford, Maldon, Wickford and Southend are eligible to apply for a grant of £500-£1,500.
